RESTORATION OF MERRITT PUMP STATION IN NAPLES, FL

Polyurethane Naples FLFoundation Professionals of Florida was honored to be a trusted contractor on the Picayune Pump Station restoration project led by the Army Corps of Engineers and the South Florida Water Management District. The Merritt Pump Station is located east of Naples and South of Golden Gate.

When we received the call about cracking of the tank farm walls and the pipe trench cracking, we were confident that we had the experience, crew, and equipment for this job to offer the repair method recommended. These kinds of cracks are vital to repair as soon as possible. If left unrepaired, they can lead to leakage, moisture problems, pest infiltration, or further structural damage. Fortunately, our team had the experience needed to fix the cracks and ensure the stability of the entire structure.

The Solution: Polyurethane Grout Injection

For this project, we utilized polyurethane grout injection. This material is lightweight yet durable, making it a perfect choice for applications like this one. It is also a very versatile repair solution. Polyurethane injections can be used to lift and stabilize foundations and to repair and seal structural cracks.

For cracks like the ones in this project, the polyurethane is injected through a port inserted into the crack or through holes drilled into the crack. The polyurethane grout expands to fill every nook and cranny of the crack, binding the two faces together securely to prevent future problems. The surface of the concrete is then sealed to further protect the surface from possible damage.
