The Project
The team at Foundation Professionals of Florida regularly handles commercial jobs in addition to residential repairs. One such recent commercial job was the repair of a Jacksonville Michael’s distribution warehouse tilt-up wall panel repair using carbon fiber. This large building had a bowing wall problem that threatened to cause significant structural damage to the rest of the building. Fortunately, our experts were able to use carbon fiber strips to support the wall, strengthening the structure and preventing structural failure from occurring.
The Problem
The Solution
In this particular job, our foundation repair team had to fix a 32 ft. precast tile panel bowed wall at Michael’s warehouse in Jacksonville, Florida. Foundation Professionals of Florida uses Rhino Carbon Fiber Reinforcement Products products for all of our carbon fiber repairs. In this particular instance, we used carbon fiber strips and heavy-duty heat-fused galvanized steel piles to add strength and stability to the bowing wall. With this method, the carbon fiber fabric is applied to the wall using a special adhesive. Additionally, the wall was supported by steel piles. This repair option offers long-term strength without being too invasive or noticeable when completed.
