Concrete Leveling and Lifting

Sunken concrete sidewalks, pool decks, and driveways lower your property value. However, they’re also a trip hazard. If someone gets injured, you could find yourself facing a lawsuit. So, don’t put this repair on the back burner.
It wasn’t that long ago that sunken slabs were fixed either by tearing them up and replacing them or via a repair procedure called ‘’mudjacking’’.  Both solutions were less than ideal though.
Digging up and replacing a sidewalk takes time. You can’t use new concrete right way. You need to wait for it to dry and harden.  Also, if the old slab became unlevel because the soil was unable to support it, the new slab will suffer the same fate.
Mudjacking involves injecting a slurry – made up of soil, water, and cement – under the slab in order to lift and level it. The problem here is the weight of the slurry. Anything containing cement is heavy, and if you add more weight to soil that already couldn’t hold up a slab, you’re not going to solve the problem. In fact, you could make it worse and the slab could sink even deeper into the soil.
Today, unlevel concrete slabs are lifted using polyurethane foam injection. The ultra lightweight polyurethane foam is injected under the slab in order to raise it. This fast and minimally-invasive procedure usually only takes 2-3 hours, and afterward, you can immediately begin using the slab again. It’s also an environmentally-friendly solution because the polyurethane foam doesn’t leach into the soil.

Seawall Repair

Seawalls serve as a barrier between land and water and protect Florida’s beachfront homes from erosion. However, seawalls themselves can erode over time. This is caused by tidal fluctuations, hurricanes and tropical storms, and a slowly rising sea level. If your seawall is starting to fail, contact us today and we’ll be out for an inspection and free estimate.
