Concrete Leveling and Lifting

Sunken concrete slabs are pretty ugly, and if someone trips, falls, and gets injured, you could find yourself facing a lawsuit. So, this isn’t a repair you want to put on the back burner.
At one time, sunken slabs such as sidewalks and driveways were fixed either by replacing them, or via ‘’mudjacking’’. Both solutions were less than ideal though.
Replacing a slab – sidewalk, driveway, pool deck, or some other type of slab – is time-consuming. New concrete takes time to dry and harden before you can use it. Also, if the slab became uneven because the soil couldn’t hold it up, the same thing will happen with the new slab.
Mudjacking involves injecting a slurry – made up of soil, water, and cement – under the slab in order to lift and level it. The problem here is the weight of the slurry. Anything containing cement is heavy, and if you add more weight to soil that already couldn’t hold up a slab, you’re not going to solve the problem. In fact, you could make it worse and the slab could sink even deeper into the soil.
Today, unlevel concrete slabs are lifted using polyurethane foam injection. The ultra lightweight polyurethane foam is injected under the slab in order to raise it. This fast and minimally-invasive procedure usually only takes 2-3 hours, and afterwards you can immediately begin using the slab again. It’s also an environmentally-friendly solution because the polyurethane foam doesn’t leach into the soil.

Seawall Repair

Seawalls function as barriers separating land from water, and work to protect beachfront property from erosion. Unfortunately, seawalls themselves can erode because they’re exposed to tidal fluctuations, extreme weather, and a slowly rising sea level. If you have a failing seawall, contact us today for a free estimate.
