Foundation Repair

Did you know that most foundation problems are caused by water? It’s true. Either too much or too little water in the soil under and around your foundation can do a lot of damage. It can cause soil erosion which can cause the foundation to move, and this movement then causes structural damage.

Concrete Leveling and Lifting

Sunken concrete slabs are both unattractive and dangerous. If someone trips and falls on your uneven sidewalk, you could even find yourself facing a lawsuit. Therefore, this isn’t one of those repairs you should put on the back burner.

Sunken concrete sidewalks, pool decks, driveways, and more, used to be repaired either by digging up and replacing the slab or via a technique called ‘’mudjacking’’. Neither one was the ideal solution though.

Tearing up the old slab and replacing it with a new one takes time. It’s not a quick fix. Freshly poured concrete needs time to dry and harden. While you’re waiting for that to happen, you can’t use your new sidewalk (or driveway, pool deck, etc.) Also, if the soil under your old slab wasn’t strong enough to support it, it’s not going to support the new slab either, which will eventually start to sink as well.

Mudjacking is a repair technique that involves injecting a slurry – made up of soil, water, and cement – under the slab in order to lift it back into position. The problem with this repair method is the weight of the slurry. It’s pretty heavy because it contains cement. If the soil under the slab was already struggling to support it, placing a cement slurry on top of it certainly isn’t going to help.

Polyurethane foam injection is a minimally invasive procedure that involves injecting an ultra-lightweight and rapidly expanding foam under the slab in order to lift it back up. From start to finish the procedure usually takes no more than 2-3 hours, and as soon as it’s complete, you can begin using the slab again.

Seawall Repair

Seawalls serve as a barrier between land and water, and protect Florida’s beachfront homes from erosion. However, seawalls themselves can erode over time. This is caused by tidal fluctuations, hurricanes and tropical storms, and a slowly rising sea level. If your seawall is starting to fail, contact us today and we’ll be out an inspection and free estimate.
