Concrete Leveling and Lifting

Sunken concrete is certainly ugly, and will lower your property value. However, if someone trips and gets hurt, you could end up getting sued. Therefore, you shouldn’t postpone this repair for long.
It wasn’t that long ago that sunken slabs were fixed either by tearing them up and replacing them, or via a repair procedure called ‘’mudjacking’’.  Both solutions were less than ideal though.
Digging up and replacing a sidewalk takes time. You can’t use new concrete the right way. You need to wait for it to dry and harden.  Also, if the old slab became unlevel because the soil was unable to support it, the new slab will suffer the same fate.
Mudjacking involves injecting a slurry containing cement under the slab in order to lift it. The problem is the weight of the slurry because it contains cement. If the soil under the slab was already having trouble supporting it, adding a cement slurry is the last thing you want to do.
Today, virtually all uneven concrete slabs are repaired via polyurethane foam injection. The procedure involves injecting a lightweight polyurethane foam under the slab. The foam immediately expands and raises the slab. It’s a fast, minimally-invasive procedure that usually takes no more than 2-3 hours, and as soon as the repair is done, the slab is ready for use again. It’s also a green solution because the polyurethane foam won’t leach into the soil.

Seawall Repair

If you own beachfront property in Florida, you probably have a seawall to protect it from erosion. The problem is that seawalls themselves can erode over time from exposure to tidal fluctuations, hurricanes, and a rising sea level. If your seawall is starting to fail, contact us today for a free estimate.
