Concrete Leveling and Lifting

If you don’t fix a sunken sidewalk, pool deck, or driveway soon, you can face bigger consequences than an unsightly home. The value of your property can go down, and if someone trips you could face a lawsuit. Get it fixed now!
In the not-so-distant past, sunken concrete slabs were fixed either by digging them up and replacing them or via something called ‘’mudjacking’’. These weren’t the best solutions though. Sometimes they caused more problems than before the job was done.
It takes a lot of time to dig up a sidewalk or slab and repour the concrete. And if the soil underneath the slab was already failing, a new slab will just face the same issues as before.

Mudjacking is a repair technique that injects a cement slurry under the slab in order to lift it back up. However, because the slurry is heavy, it adds even more weight to a soil that was probably already having trouble supporting the slab. This could cause the slab to sink even deeper into the soil.

Today, most slabs are lifted using a repair technique called polyurethane foam injection. The process involves drilling small holes in the concrete (they’ll be filled later) and then using them to inject the polyurethane foam under the slab. As the foam expands, it lifts the slab back up. Most repairs take no more than a few hours and then you can start using the slab again. Because the polyurethane foam won’t leach harmful chemicals into the soil, it’s a green solution you can feel comfortable using.

Seawall Repair

Seawalls serve as a barrier between land and water, and protect Florida’s beachfront homes from erosion. However, seawalls themselves can erode over time. This is caused by tidal fluctuations, hurricanes and tropical storms, and a slowly rising sea level. If your seawall is starting to fail, contact us today and we’ll be out an inspection and free estimate.
