Concrete Leveling and Lifting

Sunken concrete is ugly and lowers your property value. However, it’s also a trip hazard, and if someone gets injured on your property, you could get sued. So, if you have uneven concrete, get it lifted right away.
The old-school method of fixing sunken concrete was to either replace it, or repair it using a technique called mudjacking. However, these weren’t the best solutions.
It takes time to dig up and replace a concrete slab. While you’re waiting for the freshly-poured slab to dry, you won’t be able to use it.  Also, if the slab became unlevel due to weak soil, the same thing is going to happen with the new slab.
Mudjacking involves using a heavy slurry containing cement, soil, and water, to lift the slab. The problem here is the fact that the slurry contains cement. If the slab sank because the soil couldn’t support it, what do you think will happen if you add additional weight to it in the form of a cement slurry?
Today, virtually all uneven concrete slabs are lifted and leveled using a repair method called polyurethane foam injection. After a few holes are drilled in the concrete (they’ll be filled in later), a super lightweight polyurethane foam is injected under the slab. The foam expands immediately and this is what raises the slab. It’s a quick, minimally-invasive procedure that usually only takes 2-3 hours, tops. When the repair is complete, you can immediately start using the slab again. It’s also an environmentally-friendly solution as the polyurethane foam will not leach into the soil.

Seawall Repair

Seawalls form a protective, anti-erosion barrier between your Florida beachfront property and water. The problem is, seawalls themselves can erode over time from exposure to tidal fluctuations, hurricanes and tropical storms, and a slowly rising sea level. If your seawall is starting to fail, contact us today and we’ll come out for an inspection and free estimate.
