Deadman Anchors
Deadman anchors are a retaining wall tieback system that consists of a poured concrete block 10’ to 15’ landward of the wall and tie rods that connect the block to the wall.
Many existing seawalls in Florida are constructed with deadman anchors in place to keep the wall in a vertical position. Over time the threaded rods or cables may corrode and even break causing partial or complete wall failure. Foundation Professionals of Florida can replace failed deadman anchors or install new deadman anchor systems for new construction or repair projects.
Common uses of deadman anchors:
- Tie back seawalls during construction
- Tie back basement walls
- Enhance the resistance of plate anchors with poured concrete
