The Steel Pier belongs to a family of foundation repair products that are sometimes referred to as micro piles, push piers, or resistance piers. The patented Steel Pier is the standard for all piering methods in the foundation repair industry.
When a foundation inspection is done on your home or business we may recommend steel push piers as the solution. The number of piers installed is determined by the severity of the problem and other factors such as the weight and layout of the structure. Steel piers are driven down into the stable earth well below the structure to what is called “load-bearing strata”. What this means is that the pier is driven past soils and earth that can shift and move. The structure can sit atop of the piers and hydraulic jacks are used to lift the structure to the correct position.
